Hi Dr. Nicki,

These are great poems! I immediately passed them along to the K-3 teachers. Could you used these as part of a mini-lesson or are they more effective in the guided math group. Also, your enthusiasm for children’s understanding of mathematics is contagious. It inspired the teachers who were at your workshop to try some of your ideas right away. Please never stop mathing!!!!!

I would use these as mini-lessons with the whole group. They are great anchor activities where students can have a shared experience before they go off to work in differentiated centers.
