Hi Dr. Nicki,
The middle school math teachers are struggling to keep students engaged at this time of year. The jelly bean lesson for middle school is just what we needed. I strongly suggest the use of the TI-83 or TI-84 in the middle school classes, especially Pre-Algrbra and Algebra. (when it is effective) This lesson allows for relevant use of this technology. Then the calculator can be shown on the interactive whiteboard. I can’t imagine any student being bored with jelly beans and a computer.
