A Unit on Quadrilaterals!

The hierarchy of quadrilaterals is quite confusing for students.  Here is a great unit that has several hands on activities so that students begin to own this knowledge.  Remember that building geometric thinking is something that takes place all year long.  Talk about shapes during your weekly math conversations.  Have geometry “do nows” woven throughout your week.  Incorporate talks about shapes throughout your routines. I especially like the foldable books that they have integrated into the unit.  I would have the students do these and glue them in their math journals.

Happy Mathing,

Dr. Nicki
