5 Ways to Help Parents Learn about the CCSSM: Part 4 (Workshops)

It is really important to teach parents how to do the math.  Be sure to hold CCSSM Hands-On Parent workshops.  Here are 3 different ways to do it:

1. Hold Monday Muffins and Math Mornings. During these workshops, introduce the CCSSM with hands-on activities and give out muffins with the math lessons.

2. Hold early morning math workshops (right when school starts) and (like an hour before school ends) so you can catch the parents during the drop off times.

3.  Hold Saturday themed math family festivals, like math carnivals and math fairs where the students and parents play CCSSM games.  The students have to come with their parents or guardians.

I have helped schools do all of these things and the turnout is amazing.  We have had up to 500 families come!

Happy Mathing,

Dr. Nicki
