Dr…………..I love all your stuff and you continue to remind me about what great math teaching looks like. I love math workshop/guided math and you keep me fresh, updated, informed, and inspired. I have attended your workshop and you are wonderful. Keep sharing your ideas. About your 1st 20 days…………we have to hit the ground running in grades 4/5. Assessment and then pacing through Common Core. Could you add/suggest how this could fit into your 1st 20 days outline?

Yes,
I think you should try to do some of the first 20 days activities each day in the beginning of the year even in the upper grades because these are habits of mind and ways of being that we want all students to develop.
